As its Resident Business Coach, Pang-Dokland will offer one-on-one coaching and facilitate workshops such as the FastTrac® Program from the Kauffman Foundation. Robert Dickerson, Jr., BBRC’s Executive Director says, “This alliance is an excellent complement to the suite of services BBRC has been offering for the past 9 years. Now, in addition to assisting our clients with financing their businesses, we can support them with FastTrac® workshops and business coaching.” Business coaching differs from business consulting in that coaching looks at how the various aspects of a business owner’s life may impact his business, for example, mindset, behavior, environment and education. In recent years, coaching has been found to have achieved more than 600% ROI (return on investment) in companies that work with coaches. “I am very honored to be working with the BBRC and am excited about the possibilities that this alliance brings,” says Pang-Dokland. “This position will provide me with the opportunity to offer coaching and training to the business community in a way that is relatively new to Birmingham.” BBRC is a one-stop center for small business finance and related technical assistance that is sponsored by the City of Birmingham, AL, area banks and other strategic partners.
